About Me
Hi, I’m Charlie Cheng from Kaohsiung. I currently work in legal affairs at a chip design company, where I bridge technical and regulatory perspectives. I graduated from National Taiwan University with a degree in Economics, and developed solid experience in econometrics and data analysis. Along the way, I also explored computer engineering and law, completing various cross-disciplinary projects that deepened my problem-solving skills.
I love integrating knowledge across fields and thrive in environments that challenge me to learn new things. I’m always seeking growth—whether it’s through expanding my technical toolkit or exploring new perspectives. Looking ahead, I plan to pursue a master’s degree in information systems or financial engineering to sharpen my expertise at the intersection of technology and finance.
Outside of work, I’m passionate about swimming, cycling, hiking, and rock climbing. I’m currently training for a triathlon.

Analyzed individual and corporate income tax records, customs import and export data, labor insurance data at the Financial Information Center, Ministry of Finance, to assess the impact of the US-China trade war on Taiwan’s SMEs export business.

Processed thousands of judgment documents related to homicide and negligent homicide to predict sentencing terms based on features such as sentence, sentencing result, common criminal methods, sentencing factors, and characteristics of the perpetrators.

Applied a structural vector autoregression model (SVAR) to analyze the relationship between migration flows and house prices in seven major cities in Taiwan from Q1 2001 to Q3 2021, decomposing the impact of different variables on housing price changes.

Analyzed the industry and company background, acquisition process, purpose, and synergies of the two mergers. Used financial models to determine reasonable acquisition prices and evaluated potential future legal and labor disputes.
